The big duel
At the Solitude race on the Solitude racetrack just outside Stuttgart, the world's best racing drivers started in the newly created 1.5-liter Formula 1.
The leading group with Innes Ireland, Joakim Bonnier and Dan Gurney in the final stages of the race. The winner was Ireland in a Lotus, just ahead of the Porsche works drivers Bonnier and Gurney. Fourth place went to Bruce Mc Laren on Cooper.
